MatiPay, the mobile payment and telemetry system for vending enters the French market after being awarded at CES 2019 Innovation Awards in Las Vegas and recently concluding an important agreement in Italy
April 1, 2019 Paris – The well-being at work theme on which Vending Paris will be focused on this year is the right frame to introduce MatiPay to the French market, since its complete solution has been designed with the aim to optimize Vending Operators’ management activities as well as to improve Users Experience through an intuitive and engaging Smartphone App.
Designed by the IoT division of SITAEL (Angel Group), MatiPay has been installed on more than 40,000 vending machines and already involves more than 500,000 consumers, who can use their smartphone to take a coffee, offer snacks via app and transfer money to their friends.
Thanks to a telemetry module that can be easily installed in a few minutes, to an end-user mobile app and a dedicated back-office dashboard, MatiPay offers exclusives features to operators for reducing their management costs and optimize sales. Moreover, it allows them to communicate with end users directly in order to improve their loyalty and, consequently, the service quality.
MatiPay is also the unique vending product acknowledged this year at the most important consumer electronics show worldwide with the prestigious Honoree at CES 2019 Innovation Awards in Las Vegas, appreciated for being an innovative mobile payment and telemetry solution that converts vending machines into smart sales points and supplying various typologies of goods and services in a multi-channel perspective.
One of the features that most attracted the CES jury is the virtual wallet: it makes it possible to top-up the app wallet via Credit Cards, or other most important digital payment systems, including PayPal, and via cash by using coin boxes and banknote readers with which vending machines are equipped. Credit can then be used to take a coffee or a snack as well as to purchase digital goods and services such as transportation tickets, telephone top-ups and coupons for online shops.
In this way, MatiPay technology meets the requirements of all the users who cannot afford online products and services purchasing and creates an added value for all the parts involved in the vending process.
To access these services, operators and companies only need to install MatiPay system in their vending machines: and this is what Coven Consortium did at the end of 2018. Among the leading operators in the Italian Vending Industry with its 14 companies – including SERIM, ILLIRIA, and METHODO – spread throughout the Country, Coven has chosen SITAEL’s MatiPay and signed an agreement implementing the provision of 10,000 modules (with specific conditions for additional 10,000 items) and the release of a customized app, which is an additional and proven skill of SITAEL.
“MatiPay represents the state-of-the-art of Technology in Vending Industry” claims Mr. Matteo Pertosa, CEO of SITAEL S.p.A., “The contract signed with Coven as well as the prestigious award acknowledged reinforce our leadership in this field as technology and payment systems provider”.
“Coven’s mission consists in putting end-users first and in meeting their requirements by means of specific targeted investments and innovative strategies” states Massimo Ferrarini, President of the Consortium, “The agreement concluded with SITAEL is, then, an essential step towards the achievement of our goals”.
